Disinformation roundtable discussion
|
On Monday, 24 March 2025, the University of Angers Foundation hosted its 5th Inspiring Evening on the theme « The Challenge of Citizenship in the Age of Disinformation » which lies in the growing impact of information manipulation.
Fake news, conspiracy theories, and deepfakes contribute to social polarisation by trapping individuals in « echo chambers », making dialogue more difficult. The consequences extend to the economy, with reputational damage and increased costs to combat disinformation, as well as to public health, where medical misinformation can have severe repercussions.
In response to these challenges, media literacy, platform regulation, and technological tools are essential solutions to maintain informed debate and build a more resilient society.

Four workshops were offered: math, physics-chemistry, computer science, and digital culture.
We invited the high school girls to explore the Matilda effect through the "Mathilda" journey.
On this occasion, 6 new challenges have been published — it's your turn to play!
